ABF The Soldiers' Charity
Since 1944, The Army Benevolent Fund – now The Soldiers’ Charity , has been helping soldiers, veterans and their families in times of need. ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is the British Army’s National Charity, giving a lifetime of support to serving and retired soldiers. We look after the wider Army family too, giving financial assistance to partners, children, sometimes even former spouses, recognising the sacrifices which they make and the efforts to which they themselves go. We do not make judgements about circumstances – if there is a genuine need, we are there for all of them.
We give grants to individuals as well as to other specialist charities which help soldiers and their families. We work with veterans from every conflict since the Second World War, including those from recent operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. We also work in partnership with other charities, including The Royal British Legion, H4H, SSAFA, the Army Widows’ Association, BLESMA (The British Limbless and Ex-Service Men’s Association) and many more.
We are enormously grateful to all those who support The Soldiers’ Charity. With your continued fundraising, we can support our soldiers, for life. We are always looking for enthusiastic people who can give a few hours, a donation, or undertake a fundraising challenge for soldiers and their families. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, donating, getting involved in an event, or organising one in aid of soldiers, veterans and their families - please get in touch !
